Lecture in English language on the new presentation of the collection of contemporary art in the Museum Ludwig

Cara will introduce the pedological approach to museum learning and research at Tate, located in a relational and pluralistic approach to knowledge co-creation and dissemination, and touch on how this has further developed in response to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter. Cara will then present Tate Exchange, an outcome of Tate’s pedagogy. Tate Exchange is Tate’s platform dedicated to socially engaged art and is co-created with a circa 80 Associates, organisations and artists from across the UK and world, and from the arts, education, health and wellbeing and community development sectors. The talk will cover Tate Exchange’s mission, values and principles, give examples of the programme and its research activity, and present findings from its first four years of evaluation.

• Dr. Cara Courage Courage is a placemaking, and arts, activism and museums academic and practitioner, and Head of Tate Exchange, Tate’s platform dedicated to socially engaged art. Cara speaks internationally on topics covering the C21st museum, the civic and activist museum, socially engaged art in community and museum settings and arts and urban design, placemaking and planning and has published widely on these topics.
